My experience in Galveston has taught me so much about my faith. When I first came here, people had an idea of who they thought I would be. They ridiculed and looked down on me for being a follower of Christ. However after a couple of weeks they began to treat me with respect. Why? I think it’s because despite the times they put me down for what I believed in, I always kept a positive attitude. They began to understand me. I started a Bible study with a peer and it was amazing! I met people who were hungry for Christ just as I am. I am so grateful for crossing paths with them because they have made my stay a blessing. I also met people outside my Bible study group and had small conversations regarding broad topics. One of the topics was relationships. It was the first time I have ever heard a male tell me how much he relied on God’s plans for his significant other. Most guys already have a timeline they constructed themselves of when, where, and how they plan on meeting their other half. Hearing my friend gave me more hope that there are guys out there who believe that as well and that I don’t have to compromise my values to meet my significant other. No more rushing, no more impatience, no more anxiety, no more worries because I know now that God already has all of that taken care of.

In life, oftentimes we are waiting for something; waiting for a dream to come to pass, waiting to meet the right person, waiting for a problem to turn around. When things aren’t happening as fast as we would like, it’s easy to get frustrated. But you have to realize that the moment you prayed, God established a set time to bring the promise to pass.

God has a set time for your opportunity. There is a set time for that problem to turn around, a set time for your healing, your promotion, your breakthrough. It may be tomorrow, or next week, or five years from now. But when you understand the time has already been set, it takes all the pressure off. You won’t live worried, wondering when this is ever going to happen. You’ll relax and enjoy your life knowing that the promise has already been scheduled and your answer is on the way!
